All profits from Fig09 will go directly to our chosen charity - Zoe's Place - a baby's hospice in Middlesborough. This is all down to a very brave little girl on our Figaro forum www.autosupplyuk.com/forums who has already raised a lot of money for Zoe's Place. Here's a little bit about Millie from her mum and Figaro owner, Sue:
As you may know Millie (who is now 8 ) was born very premature -15 weeks early-and had a rough start in life, weighing in at just 1lb 15 oz.
Thankfully she has no long term effects, is perfectly healthy and although she is a real livewire at times, it's a joy to see her running around full of beans and a enjoying every minute of life to the full. We know the scenario could have been a lot different, and for that we are very thankful.
Now, Millie often sees the kiddies in Zoes' and naturally asks questions as all kids do, why are they poorly, what's that tube for, why can't they walk, I am sure you know what kids are like with their natural curiosity - and we try and explain as best we can.
Zoe's Place wasn't around when we had Millie, and I can only imagine what the parents must go through when their children need long term care...Millie was only on oxygen for a very short time, and although she was tube fed when we first brought her home, what we went through is nothing to what some of the families here in Zoes have to cope with on a day to day basis.
Anyway bless her heart, as well as donating toys and books, and saving pennies in her money box, Millie decided she wanted to do something really special to help our kiddies...
After clearance from the UK Bungee Club, she has been given special permission to take part in our 1000 Feet Zip Slide off The Transporter Bridge in October . As far as I am aware she will be the youngest person ever to have done this off this particular bridge, which involves climbing up the 210 steps to the 190 feet platform,( a feat in itself) walking across the bridge over the River Tees, then Zip Sliding over the river at around 30mph to land back on the other side again...
Millie completed her feat and raised a lot of money and we were all very proud of her, so we decided to make her day yet again by doing what we can for Zoe's Place. To read the full story and to see photos of her day go to here and to read about Zoe's Place please visit this link
Here's hoping we can raise lots of money for what I am sure you will agree is a very deserving charity.
